About Us
In order for students to thrive in this modern, information-driven, high-tech society and pursue STEM-related professions, IEEE recognizes the importance of helping them improve their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) skills. Students’ interest in STEM careers can be ignited through exposure to new technologies and the way they operate. Through its pre-university educational activities, IEEE is committed to increasing interest in and knowledge of engineering, computer science, and technology by helping students identify the engineer or scientist hidden inside of them.
The IEEE Pre-University Education Coordination Committee works to support teachers, parents, and IEEE volunteers in giving young students life-changing experiences that motivate them to pursue a STEM career. We do this by developing innovative ways to show students aged 18 and younger the value of STEM-related professions.
One of the best methods to achieve our objectives is to concentrate our efforts on developing a lively community of pre-university STEM enthusiasts, instructors, parents, and volunteers who can share ideas, and experiences, and develop an efficient pre-university STEM education.
The first IEEE STEM Summit was organized in November 2021. It was held in a virtual format, where educators and volunteers could learn about and interact with STEM opportunities, resources, and activities. Participants had the chance to ask questions as award-winning educators and knowledgeable volunteers offered their experiences and practical advice on how to plan interesting and effective outreach activities.
Now, being in the second version of IEEE STEM Summit, we are happy to invite you all to this free and virtual event which will be held on 6-10 December 2022.
